Telling stories is cultural participation

Perhaps storytelling is one of humanity's first and most important cultural techniques. Stories convey knowledge, experiences, and life lessons. They are part of cultural identities. Stories have the power to connect times, people, cultures, and worlds. This makes it all the more important that stories can reach everyone.

Mehr¬Sinn® Stories is a format that transforms fairy tales and stories so that people with disabilities can understand them. Mehr¬Sinn® Stories are not just narrated. The original story is adapted so that it can be perceived and experienced with all the senses. Access to understanding is enabled through sensations, emotions, and memories. Meaningful music, props for smelling, tasting, touching, and looking, and engaging language are used. During the workshop, participants will learn about the concept of Mehr¬Sinn® Stories and develop and create their own stories.

Contents of the workshop

  • Introduction of KuBus® e. V.
  • Presentation of the concept of mehr¬Sinn® stories and exercises for the sensory perception of stories.
  • Creating your own more¬Sinn® stories.
  • Summary and discussion of the resulting story templates.
  • All participants will receive a manual for a nominal fee of 10 euros.

You can find an insight into the mehr¬Sinn® stories on the KuBus® e. V. website.
